Fun but far less challenging than previous installments.. sound corrupts over time. difficult to overwrite at steam software.. Myst 5 is a strange game. It feels absolutely nothing like the previous myst games, and seems more like a sequel to the spinoff game Uru. But that isn't exactly surprising, considering it is made from unused Uru content. The story is extremely simple for a myst game and the ages (worlds) you explore lack almost any kind of interactivity. Still, I found it very enjoyable. Myst 5 has a certain atmosphere that I've never really seen anywhere else. The music, the graphics, the voice acting... Everything just goes together perfectly and makes the game an unforgttable experience. I understand why people may think it's a dissapointing end to the series, I mean, if this wasn't in real time 3d, it would be painfully obvious how much it's been dumbed down compared to the previous games. Still, this is a subjective matter and personally I found it both very gripping and immersive. Would recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle-adenture games. You don't even need to have played the previous myst games. Sure, if you have played them, you'll understand certain refrences and appreciate the game even more, but it's not necessary. I played this before Riven, Myst 3 or Myst 4 and I understood pretty much everything.Anyway, final score: 9/10. It's a damn shame they only ever made four Myst games.. This game is wonderful but until they do something about the verbal abuse and the toxic community around it I can't give it a recommend. its more toxic than anything I have seen in awhile.. Plausible ending to the series albeit short considering the journey to get here.Was good to here from my old friend Atrus.Personally I've always felt the whole D'nai mmorpg debacle was a disservice to the real Myst fans so this will have to suffice as the end of an era.Somewhat of a shame as it could have been Epic.Overall the game is playable and enjoyable, only had 1 glitch.. Compared to even the original MYST, this edition to the franchise is quite poor. While it is nice to move around freely, the graphics were terrible. I enjoyed MYST and Riven because of the detailed, immersive environments, even if you had to move from spot to spot. Furthermore, the clues, or lack thereof, in this game was mind numbingly irritating. Nothing else in the franchise left you with so little to work with. Finally, the story was far from engaging. The constant interruptions from Esher were unnecessary and stalled gamepley. Honestly, I am surprised this was made by the original developers as it missed the mark so badly. Patch update 1.0.1: Patch update 1.0.1 Fixed a bug that caused the laser turret to be not destroyed. Fixed the 'running stop' animation Changed the colors of some of the UI headings to make it more readable.. Coming Soon - 7 days?: PUNK-EX is going to be release on early-access very soon! In 7 days!The date is set on November 2nd but there's a small possibility of releasing it a few days later if I encounter some problem with the game.The game is 80% playable with the exception of the final missions. But right now, this is the direction for the Steam release. About Multiplayer PUNK-EX already has a PVP mode but it will take time to finalize it. Currently I am removing the 'Multiplayer' label on the game until it is 100% confirmed that the game has multiplayer mode.I am going to focus more on the Single-player aspect of the game before going into developing multiplayer.
